Area Counties Gain And Lose Ground In Health Rankings

A new report is out on healthy living with some area counties gaining and losing ground in the rankings. The 2013 County Health Rankings website lists Putnam County as the second healthiest statewide. Hancock County dropped to 12th according to the Courier. The rankings are based on four factors: Physical environment, socioeconomic, family-social support and health behaviors. Putnam moved up from fourth in 2012, Hancock dropped from eighth.

Wood County was seventh, moving up from ninth last year. Seneca County ranked 18th up from 23rd. Allen County was 35th. Wyandot County ranked 37th and Hardin County ranked 59th. Geauga County was the healthiest in the state for 2013.
