Findlay Health Dept. Grant Will Help With Accreditation

The Findlay City Health Department took another step closer to developing a system of uniform performance measures as part of a trend toward national public health accreditation with the receipt of an Accreditation Readiness Grant..

Deputy Health Commissioner Barb Wilhelm said the $7,850 grant will be used to hire a facilitator from the Hospital Council of Northwest Ohio to examine where we are as a community in order to develop a plan that will stand up to the scrutiny of accreditation. Wilhelm outlined some of the health issues facing Findlay and Hancock County..

The Findlay City Health Department took a leadership role in the completion of a comprehensive health assessment in 2011 and began to put together a strategic plan in 2012. The initiative funded by the grant is the third step in the overall process.
