Fostoria To Upgrade Wastewater Treatment Plant

Wednesday, April 17, 2013 - 5:33 AM

The city of Fostoria is set to upgrade its wastewater treatment facilities. The Review-Times reports city council authorized Mayor Eric Keckler to enter into a 20-year, $4.51 million loan agreement with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency. The loan will pay for the replacements of two clarifiers, which will help the facility eliminate a bottleneck that can lead to overflows. There were 40 such incidents last year because the existing clarifiers can no longer handle the 12.5 million gallons a day of wastewater they were designed for.
