Commissioner Wants Fee Enacted For Road Projects

Wednesday, April 17, 2013                                          1:00 PM

A Seneca County Commissioner wants to enact a $5 vehicle license tax rather than place the issue on the ballot. Commissioner Fred Zoeller said during their regular meeting that he hates debt and taxes but, the citizens of Seneca County expect them to be leaders. The tax would generate about $198,000 annually which would be used as matching money to secure state road money according to the Courier. The county wants to upgrade Ohio 53 with intersection turn lanes, widen berms and shoulders and fill in ditches to make the road safer and allow better traffic flow.
