Wednesday, April 17, 2013                                        1:30 PM

The departure and anticipated retirement of two employees in North Baltimore's Water and Sewer Department have some on North Baltimore Village Council concerned. According to the Courier, Councilman Aaron Patterson said the village could be in a lot of trouble if the village departments were not staffed properly. Waterplant operator Tony Smith is leaving for another job and Andy Patterson, who oversees the Water and Sewer Department, plans to retire soon. Councilman Patterson said it could take three to five years to understand the entire workings of the water and sewer departments. Training of employees was discussed to handle certain operations when a department head leaves or retires.
