Farmers Co-op Boards Vote To Merge

The board of directors of Blanchard Valley Farmers Cooperative and Deshler Farmers Elevator unanimously approved an "agreement of merger". The new company will be named Legacy Farmers Cooperative pending approval of the members, according to the Courier. Additional information will be sent to members in June and ballots will be sent out after informational meetings are held. A benefit of $200,000 could be realized in the first year of the merger and more than $500,000 in the second year and moving forward.
