Wednesday, May 15, 2013                                    1:30 PM

Abduction victim Elizabeth Smart will tell her story this fall at Bowling Green State University. Smart will visit BGSU on November 5 as part of a program sponsored by the BGSU University Libraries and its advocates board according to the Sentinel Tribune. In 2002, Smart was kidnapped at knifepoint from her bed in Salt Lake City, Utah on the night before she was set to graduate from junior high. Her disappearance captured the nation's attention until she was found nine months later just 18 miles from her home. Smart, now 25, has reached out to other abduction victims including the three women recently freed in Cleveland. She has become an advocate for child recovery programs and legislative changes.
